Frequently Asked Questions
Why is an opossum in my yard?
Food is the main reason: garbage, compost, fallen fruit or pet food. A sheltered space under a deck or shed makes them stay.
Will an opossum leave on its own?
They often move around, but if there’s food and shelter, they’ll keep coming back. Removing the reason they’re there is key.
Can opossums get into my house?
It’s less common than raccoons, but they can get into garages, crawl spaces and basements through open gaps.
